New weight loss tool – Mind Munch-ease

5 Jun

Need to change your negative self-talk, stop sabotaging yourself,
get your mind right or change your perspective?

Impossible?

 Not anymore!

Mind Munch-ease is an innovative, practical and empowering weight loss tool to turn all those excuses into changed behavior and weight-loss success.

Most of us know that leading a healthy lifestyle / losing weight  has as much to do with our minds as our eating habits. And one of the most common ways we sabotage our own goals is by convincing ourselves that we can’t achieve them. We blame our environment, our genes or our lifestyles, and we end up making countless excuses rather than making changes.

That’s where Mind Munch-ease fits in.

Mind Munch-ease

The 51- pack of cards – Takes each thought, emotion, habit or environmental cue we use as excuses and quite literally, turns them around!

Mind Munch-ease side 2

Every negative is replaced with its opposite: a positive, affirming and empowering statement that puts you right back in control and leaves no more room for excuses!

How Mind Munchies work:

With the excuses on one side and the ‘flip side’ on the reverse, using the cards couldn’t be easier! Just pick an excuse from the pack (ie: I can’t lose weight because I have a slow metabolism) read it, and then turn the card over to find the alternative mind-set. With enough use, you’ll turn all the old excuses into new, positive habits – and you’ll be well on your way to a healthier you.

The pack of Mind Munch-ease, can be bought for just

R170.00 *

and can be purchased directly from Unique Lifestyle

Countdown to the launch of Mind Munch-ease, Unique Lifestyle’s new weight loss tool

6 May

Last time I dealt with printers I almost got an ulcer and I am generally laid back! It was a nightmare from beginning to end. I was advised by a sales rep on the gramage of the paper and the printing process based on a sample of a card I gave them. Firstly the orginal deadline was moved daily, with broken promises on when I would get the finished product. When the “finished” product eventually arrived I was shocked. I had asked for a glossy (UV varnished – for those of you know about printing processes) fairly thick card. Well what I asked for and what I got were two completely different things. What I received was a set of cards that looked like they had been cut out of a magazine (quality of the paper) with no gloss / sheen to be seen! Needless to say the whole lot went back. And the whole process began again.

That has put me off designing new products (a few years) until a few weeks ago when I came up with a concept / tool to help people who struggle to lead a healthy lifestyle / lose weight. So the concept was developed, the artwork designed, the copy edited and then it was time to…. you guessed ….find a printer.

Funny how things work out. A friend returned my call at exactly the same time a printer phoned on my cell to arrange an appointment. After I had made the appointment, my friend (who was still on the landline and had overheard the conversation on my cell) suggested I get a quote from a company that she had been associated with  for a couple of months. I made an appointment and went to see them.

What a pleasure! A level of professionalism that one expects but seldom finds.  They have given me advice and answered all my e-mails & phone calls promptly. They gave me a very competitive quote for digital printing (they also do litho) which I accepted.  Their service has continued to be excellent. I gave them the files yesterday – this morning the rep called to make an appointment to see me so that I could see the proofs and sign them off. No delays, no excuses, no errors – it ’s like a dream!

I signed of the proofs about an hour ago. They are fantastic and I am getting really excited. The product will be launched to my clients and subscribers of my free monthly newsletter on the 13 May and at the Shape Wellness Workshops on 15 May 2009.

The Ultimate Quick Fix – Virtual Wives for Weight Loss!

14 Mar

Can you believe what people will resort to in their quest to lose weight?

I found this post on new technological trends for weight loss.

nagging-virtual-wives

“It’s hard to keep on the straight and narrow when you are trying to lose weight. The Japanese have come up with a virtual nagging wife to solve that problem. Your “wife” will send you four emails a day to remind you of your diet!

You log in on the website to set up a diet and health plan and then you can choose from one of four different “wives,” which include a silly giggly maid, a stern businesswoman type, a caring nurse, or a trendy nail artist. A strange set and a weird system to stay on a diet but hey, if it works, don’t knock it! “

Talk about sexist –  what about virtual husbands? I thought I seen / heard it all.  I had a  really good laugh but wondered who would spend their time designing something like this and who would be desperate enough to buy it?

So what do you think of it? Add your comments.

Journaling

5 Mar

Ever since I read The Artists Way by Julia Cameron I started journaling – writing 3 “morning pages” a day. She uses it as a tool of creative recovery. After writing for a few months I gained insights into negative patterns of behaviour and thinking.

 What is journaling?

Journaling allows you to record your thoughts, feelings, emotions. It’s about writing without thinking… letting your hand move across the page without giving much thought to the content – writing whatever is in your mind…e.g. I hate writing, I really don’t know what I am supposed to write about. I haven’t done this since school and still don’t find it easy….etc etc.

 What are the rules?

There is only one rule and that is that you write…3 pages…every day….even if you think you have nothing to say. It is for your eyes only.

Why write?

Journaling is a way to track your emotions, habits and patterns of behaviour and provide you with insights…

Journaling a weight loss tool

I recommend using a journal as part of a weight loss programme to record insights, track patterns in behaviour and devise pro-active lifestyle changes. Journaling provides insight into the way you think. It allows you to get past your “inner critic” that little voice that keeps sabotaging your efforts to lose weight.

Journaling turned out to be one of the key tools in my weight loss success which is why I insisted on including a journal in the weight loss kit I designed. For further information on the kit you can go to http://sandygoldberg.wordpress.com/2008/11/22/
